Deep Conditioning your lovely tresses ✨

Hey everyone! I am back and as promised on my IG, I will be sharing with you some of my favorite deep conditioners and telling you why it is so important to deep condition your hair. Deep conditioning isn’t just something that people who choose to wear their hair natural can do, it helps all types of hair health. There are a lot of ways that you can deep condition your hair, some people like to do it prior to washing and some like to do it while in the shower. I have tried both methods and for me, deep conditioning after I have washed my hair with shampoo and conditioner works best for me. If you are using a DIY deep conditioner that has oil mixed in to it (i.e Coconut Oil, Jojoba Oil, etc), I believe you should apply it to dry hair before showering so that you make sure to wash out all the ingredients and not have to worry about build up or an unclean scalp. When you deep condition you are not only helping your scalp’s health but you are also bringing lots of moisture back into your hair. Wether you just dyed your hair or just haven’t been really caring about your hair lately, deep conditioners are your saving grace. Below I will list the deep conditioners that I have been using and love and will number them from 1-5, 1 being my ultimate favorite.

#1. One ‘N Only – Restorative Mask with Argan Oil

This is my go to mask that I have been using to Deep Condition for YEARS now. The first ingredient is water and has shea butter for moisture as well. This mask is said to be “an intensive treatment to penetrate the cuticle and reconstruct the hair shaft, rebuild strength and restore elasticity”. I can vouch and say that I use this hair mask when my hair feels weak, when I haven’t been taking care of my hair, and especially after a day at the beach. It helps with environmental factors, heat stress and chemical or color treatments so for those that have dye in their hair, this one is safe to use. For even more maximum penetration, you can use a shower cap and/or go under a hair dryer. Only need to leave on for 7-10 mins. Price point is super affordable at $8.99 at

#2. Overtone – The Remedy Colorless Hair Mask

Ever since I started dying my hair I searched for solutions to maintain my color looking vibrant. I stumbled upon Overtone and with their pigmented conditioners, I was able to stretch my days to months with my color. The best part is, that it is safe for natural hair and does not include ammonia, sulfates or parabens! This hair mask, just like their conditioners, is used to help restore moisture and repair damage in between color applications. They utilize plant based ingredients like avocado, olive oil, coconut oils, as well as shea butter. Both avocado and coconut oils prevent future damage while encouraging hair growth and strengthen the hair and shea butter conditions and provides anti-inflammatory benefits to your scalp. The price point is a little on the higher end at $27 but take it from me, a little goes a long way and it lasts a long time. You can purchase and read more about it here:

#3. DpHue. – ACV Hair Masque

If you haven’t tried using apple cider vinegar for your hair, this is a great way to start. ACV can be used to cleanse your scalp and restore life back into your hair. A lot of naturals use ACV rinses for this purpose when their hair is feeling weak and their curls are lacking luster. This mask is great because not only does it not smell like ACV at all, instead it smells amazing & it infuses Sunflower Seed Extract, Rosehip and Avocado Oil. The benefits are listed as “Repairs and strengthens damaged hair, restores elasticity, protects color and reduces frizz/increases shine.” I was using this when I first dyed/bleached my hair and this got my hair back to being soft and shiny. The price point is on the higher end as well at $42 but its worth it if you feel that your hair is severely damaged and needs something strong to bring it back to life.

#4. Eva Nyc – Therapy Session Hair Mask

I just recently started using this mask and wow! Another color safe hair mask that smells wonderful. I seriously cannot get over how good it smells. Ingredients include Argan Oil and Seabuckthorn extract. Argan oil is rich in Vitamins A and B and is an antioxidant as well. Seabuckthorn is something that I’ve been seeing circulate in social media and has been used for years. It is a shrub that sprouts fruits and seeds has a lot of benefits for both skin and hair. Also rich Omegas, Vitamin A and E, it helps with scalp circulation and supports hair growth. I recommend reading more about it because it has over 200 properties! This mask has definitely helped strengthen and repair my strands all while leaving my hair extremely soft and smelling great. Price point is $14.99 and can be found at Ulta via this link

#5. Not Your Mother’s Naturals- Matcha Green Tea and wild Apple Blossom Butter Masque

Another good one! This mask smells amazing as well and uses 98% derived ingredients! This means that the ingredients have been unchanged from their natural state and have not undergone processing. The 2% left are the synthetic ingredients to help ensure shelf life. This mask is meant to detoxify your scalp with the matcha green tea and the wild apple blossom as antioxidants. No use of sulfates, parabens, silicones, dyes, and gluten free as well. Upon using this mask, my scalp did feel clean and moisturized and all it took was 2-5 minutes! The price point is Super affordable at only $8.99! Run dont walk to get this at
